Getting better means scanning differently
Most people improve at this genre by changing where they look rather than by thinking harder. Beginners follow the line from its head, extending it and backtracking when it fails. Stronger solvers spend most of their attention on the cells the line has not reached yet, asking which of them are about to become unreachable.
That shift is worth practising deliberately. Before extending the line, look at the emptiest corner of the board and ask how the line is ever going to get in and out of it. Often that single question decides a move you were about to get wrong.
What the tiers actually change
Easy boards are mostly forced steps: follow the chain, and the board falls out. Medium boards start requiring you to notice stranded cells before they strand. Hard boards need the split test - spotting that a move would cut the remaining space in two. Expert boards require following a candidate several steps before it fails.
The grids stay small compared with the other games, and deliberately. A large path board is not harder so much as longer; the difficulty here comes from how far ahead you have to see, so the boards stay compact and make you see further.
Instant, and never the same board twice
Boards are served immediately from a pre-checked pool, and your device remembers the ones it has already shown you so a long session does not repeat itself. Changing tier draws from a different part of the pool without resetting that memory.
Separate from your streak
These count towards their own record - solved totals and average times per tier - and cannot affect your Daily streak either way. Abandon a board halfway with no consequence at all.
The streak is meant to be one small thing a day that you can keep up for years. Practice sits beside it and never puts it at risk.
